Should You Buy A Minnesota Home Now or Wait Until Spring?

Looking to buy a home in Minnesota and trying to decide if now is the right time to buy? Often I will quick questions this time of year wondering if “we should just wait until Spring to buy a home”? Or “Is now a good time to buy a home with winter coming?”

My feeling is that in Minnesota the best time to buy a home is in the fall or early winter. Why? 1) You likely have a little less competition. 2) Some of the sellers are very motivated and need to sell.

This means you are very likely to get a better deal. I am almost 100% sure that you will get a better price now buying then you will in the Spring and summer next year.

Now if your selling and buying to upgrade or “Move Up”…Its still good to sell your home and buy that next home. On your current home your likely to get close to max value, and on your “move up” you are likely to get a bigger savings now then you would next Spring. Thus, the numbers will look better for you moving now!
